  • Associate Assistant Deputy Minister, Lands and Minerals Sector at Natural Resources Canada

Rinaldo Jeanty was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) of the Lands and Minerals Sector (LMS) at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) in August 2023. Prior to this appointment , Mr. Jeanty held several senior executive positions at NRCan, including Associate ADM, Science and Operations, and Director General and Chief Inspector of Explosives of the Explosives, Regulatory and Business Services Branch.

In his current position, Mr. Jeanty is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a complex scientific organization that has a $376M budget and 1100+ employees. His responsibilities include promoting ethical and transparent mining practices; providing safety and security measures to protect Canadians from explosives, earthquakes and space weather hazards; and developing mining technology and delivering cutting-edge geoscience to support sustainable and secure mineral and energy development. He also oversees international boundary maintenance and accurate geospatial positioning to meet economic, social and environmental needs.

Mr. Jeanty is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Master in Business Administration from Laurentian University, as well as a Master in Project Management and a Bachelor of Commerce specializing in Accounting and Finance from Carleton University.
